This rite of passage, one of the sixteen samskaras (sacraments) of Hinduism, has deep spiritual, cultural and even health significance.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Mundan, one of the sixteen samskaras<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Mundan is a crucial stage in a child&#8217;s life and one of the sixteen samskaras, a set of rituals and rites of passage in Hinduism that mark important stages in a person&#8217;s life, from conception to death<\/strong>. The word samskara is derived from Sanskrit and means &#8220;purification&#8221;, &#8220;perfection&#8221; or &#8220;sacrament&#8221;.
