It seems still to resonate with the divine love between Radha and <a href=\"https:\/\/magikindia.com\/krishna-jayanti\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lord Krishna<\/a>. The &#8220;temple of the beloved&#8221;, built like a Rajput palace, stands majestically on Bhanugarh hill. It is surrounded by four hills which according to legend represent the four heads of the god Brahma. Lord Vishnu took the form of the Mount Govardhan and Lord Shiva the form of Nandishwara Hill in Nandagaon. A fan has been set up in front of them; worshippers can pull on a string to operate it and give the two gods a cool breeze. The inside walls are painted with huge murals telling the love story of Radha and Krishna. Like Radha Rani&#8217;s, this temple looks more like a <a href=\"https:\/\/magikindia.com\/culture-india\/architecture-of-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rajput palace<\/a> than a Hindu shrine. The main hall of the temple is surrounded by other rooms, which were originally intended to serve as the residence of the king and queen. The town puts on a unique version of the festival, called Laddu Holi and Lathmaar Holi. It is an absolute place-to-be during Holi.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Laddoo Holi<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Laddoo Holi&nbsp;celebrates Krishna&#8217;s visit to Barsana during Holi. At this festival they are thrown from the top of the Radha temple onto the crowd below, who try to catch them. Legend has it that when Lord Krishna was living in the neighbouring village of Nandgaon, he used to visit Barsana where his beloved Radha was born. The dark-faced god enjoyed teasing Radha and her <em>gopi <\/em>friends (<em>gopis<\/em> are cowherd girls). The men use shields to protect themselves.
