Legend has it that King Solomon&#8217;s ships called there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thiruvananthapuram became powerful again after Marthanda Varma came to power as founder and ruler of the princely state of Travancore in 1729. It was completed in 1880.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The building reflects Kerala&#8217;s rich architectural heritage: its structure harmoniously blends Indo-Islamic, Indian and Gothic elements. The architectural style of Kerala is, in fact, influenced by Mughal, Italian and Chinese art. The site is very picturesque, with the sea as backdrop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Padmanabhapuram Palace (50 km)<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Padmanabhapuram palace is a perfect example of Kerala architecture and a good place to stop on the way to <a href=\"https:\/\/magikindia.com\/kanyakumari-tamil-nadu\/\">Kanyakumari.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\"
